In the early 1990's, Nanny Still discovered a new glass processing technique, the pâte-de-verre, resulting in a stunning series of glass sculptures, with titles such as Winter, Water, Word, Eye, Fish and Tear, take as their starting point the relationship between Finnish and Hungarian languages, but the works take these concepts to a universal level. Most recent works use a sand casting technique in images based on Greek mythology and Finnish National Epic Kalevala, including the Six Graces and Ilmatar - Skymaiden.
